The Green Gala: Midnight in the Garden 2008 - (November 8, 2008)
Following the Sustainable Style Show 2008 was the second annual Green Gala: Midnight in the Garden at the Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District (Building #6 and #7) on Saturday, November 8th, 2008. It featured 10 of Canada's top fashion designers each creating 3 outfits made from sustainable fabrics for a memorable fashion show.
From the cosmetics and hair care products used on models, to the printing process, food and beverages, décor elements, lighting and energy source, The Green Gala aims to inspire other event planners to lighten their footprint, while at the same time shining a spotlight on the potential that sustainable fabrics have to make evening wear and couture clothing.
The event was bolstered by a silent auction, live performance by Tara MacLean, and featured media personalities and celebrities modeling the clothing on the catwalk! This year's event was hosted by MuchMusic VJ Hannah Simone.
