Canada's Next Top Model - Open Casting Tour (January 23, 2009)

Toronto, ON (January 23, 2009) - The final stop in the first-ever nationwide open casting tour for "Canada's Next Top Model", the Gemini Award-winning series took place at the Fairview Mall in Toronto on January 23. The tour started last Friday (Jan 16) at the Brentwood Town Centre in Vancouver and made it's way to Edmonton Jan. 18 (West Edmonton Mall), followed by Halifax Jan. 20 (Halifax Shopping Centre), Montreal Jan. 22 (Les Cours Mont-Royal) and Toronto Jan. 23 (Fairview Mall). Producers have already received nearly 4,000 applications from model hopefuls for Season 3 online and via mail. Only 10 will make it to the series to live together under one roof and the winner will receive a modelling contract with the prestigious agency, as well as a $100,000 beauty contract from Procter & Gamble (P&G) and a spread in FASHION magazine.

Top agent and fashion veteran Elmer Olsen was at the open-call casting tour bringing his experience and expertise to the table.

"Elmer is the undisputed sort of king of scouting models in Canada; he is the guy with the eye. He has a real track record of finding exceptional new girls and then really helping manage their careers into the international market place and into Europe,” says Sheila Hockin.
