Miss UniverseŽ Canada 2009 Pageant Finals - John Bassett Theatre (May 17, 2009)
The Miss UniverseŽ Canada 2009 Pageant Finals was held at the John Bassett Theatre (Metro Convention Centre) on May 17, 2009. 57 Delegates from across Canada competed for the title of Miss UniverseŽ Canada 2009 and this years winner is Mariana Valente, a 23-year old student of languages at York University. Valente, who was born in Brazil and moved to Canada at age 12, stands 5'9" tall and she will represent Canada at the Miss Universe pageant in the Bahamas on August 23rd, 2009.
TingJia Lorogiano won the People's Choice Award, while Chanel Beckenlehner won the Miss Elegance and Audience Favorite prizes; Xiao Sun was awarded Best Runway, and Cristina Heslenfeld won the Best in Swimwear award.
