SHOPPERS WILL BE "TICKLED PINK" AT HEART OF FASHION!

EXTRAORDINARY 8th ANNUAL FUNDRAISER AT BAYVIEW VILLAGE SHOPPING CENTRE
HELPS NORTH YORK GENERAL HOSPITAL’S CANCER PATIENTS & THEIR FAMILIES

Toronto, ON – Shoppers with a Heart for Fashion will be tickled pink with an exclusive after-hours shopping experience at Bayview Village Shopping Centre — one of Canada’s most prestigious shopping centres. The 8th Annual Heart of Fashion, a one-night, once-a-year extravaganza, takes place Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit patients and families served by North York General Hospital’s BMO Financial Group Breast Diagnostic Centre (BDC).

This evening is ideal for discerning customers seeking unique merchandise in an inviting, upscale and private environment. Guests will enjoy an exclusive after-hours shopping experience offering in-store discounts, fine wines, cocktails, gourmet food and entertainment encompassing the latest fashion designs and trends.

CityLine fashion expert Sandra Pittana will host two fashion runway shows (7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.) featuring Bayview Village retailers such as: Honey, Chadwicks, Tommy Bahama, Sandro, Vivian Shyu, Brian Bailey, Mendocino, Andrews, Barbuti, Strada, and San Marino. In addition, Canadian Designer Ross Mayer will lend his considerable design talent by creating a one-of-a-kind cocktail dress that will be featured in the Heart of Fashion runway show. This spectacular dress will be auctioned off live during the evening.

Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in an online auction beginning October 24. The auction features extravagant gift items such as weekend getaways, jewellery, one-of-a-kind personal experiences, event tickets, golf packages, and spa and resort treatments. Proceeds will help the centre purchase of a new Ultrasound system to better serve patients. The auction is available online at: www.nyghauctions.com.

Another exciting addition to this years’ event is the Mystery Bags. To date, 500 Mystery Bags have been stuffed with goodies from companies like Procter and Gamble, The Village Spa, Belle De Provence, Fusion, Quo, Chatelaine and GoodLife Fitness. Each bag ranges in value from $150-$12,000. These bags will be sold at the event for $50.

Heart of Fashion offers shoppers what’s “haute” in the world of fashion, beauty, dining and home décor while also supporting a wonderful cause. Over the past seven years, the generosity of Bayview Village Shopping Centre, its retailers, and Heart of Fashion participants has raised over $1 million dollars for patients being treated at the BDC.

Tickets are $75 per person. For more information, or to purchase tickets, please contact 416.756.6944 or visit www.heartoffashion.ca.
