A couple of highlights:
* the Toronto Week of Style will be the most sustainable week of fashion in the world.
* the event will also celebrate the rich culture that defines the city by mounting fashion shows celebrating the South Asian and Native Canadian communities
* Once again, models of all types were sought, not just through traditional modeling agencies, but through word of mouth and the use of social media for the “Are You A Style Icon” the event's official Model Search. Hundreds auditioned and the chosen will be announced May 20th.
* As well, designers will again be showcased on the runways in groups - another first for commercial week of fashion ventures.
“Last year we doubled our attendance projections which demonstrate a real buy-in from the industry and more importantly Toronto's consumer base itself... which is key. This year we are looking forward to again providing these cultural influencers with that outlet that they have yearning for the past decade."
