L'ORÉAL FASHION WEEK - FALL 2008 COLLECTION

Fashion is a global event and the Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC) is proud to present the L'Oréal Fashion Week starting March 17 through March 22, 2008. The tagline for this fashion event is "Wear in the World!" paying homage to the global fashion community. The event will once again take place at City Hall, Nathan Phillips Square (100 Queens Street West) and this season promises to be bigger than before. One can't help but notice the massive 30,000 square foot fashion tents that were built just for this event and the statement it exhibits.

The L'Oréal Fashion Week Fall 2008 Collections featured about thirty-three shows and sixty-nine designers from many different countries including Italy, Germany, France, Japan, Sweden and more. The excitement begins as you enter through the glass doors into the main lounge area where you find yourself engulf with a big crowd of fashion lovers, celebrities (Miss World Canada 2008 was in attendance too), media crews, booths showcasing their products, the Orangina girls, a bar and the entrance to the fashion show.

The day started with shows from Evan Biddell, Max Chernitsov, Mellinda-Mae Harlingten, Nadya Toto, and Denis Gagnon. Joe Fresh Style was the opening night feature and it drew in many eager attendees as it could accomodate. It was a great success and a wonderful start for the show. It was definately one of the highlights of the week.

The following days, we were presented with many shows from designers showcasing their current fall collection designs. One after another they showed their creativity and style starting with Lewd, HiBebe, preloved, Evan & Dean, Talenti Moda Milano, Lucian Matis, NADA, Bustle, Joeffer Caoc, Philip Sparks, Carlie Wong, Saniya Khan, Slavka Plavsic, Diesel Kids, Comrags, Andy The-Anh, David Dixon, Sar Couture, TATSUAKI, Zoran Dobric, Nada Yousif, GSUS, Paul Hardy, RUDSAK, Franke and finally the big closing by Pink Tartan which was a BIO (By Invitation Only) show.
