This year the Rainbow Ball was held at the Mississauga Convention Centre on Friday, September 19, 2008. Proceeds from the event go to support important charitable organizations including the Community Foundation of Mississauga, Peel Children's Aid Foundation, Interim Place and the Patient Cancer Care Unit at the Trillium Health Centre.

As in the past, the Rainbow Ball is known as an evening of elegance. Great food, stunning décor and fabulous auction make this a "not to be missed" event. The evening began with a performance by two skilled acrobats followed by Tania Kolar (Director of Ceremonies) giving an opening speech. Throughout the evening guests of the Rainbow Ball were entertained by an inhouse band, Michelle Madeira a Vocal Artist (Top 32 finalists on Canadian Idol) and the evening feature was a wonderful performance by The Platters! The Platters have appeared in twenty seven movies and are renowned for hits such as Only You, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, The Great Pretender, Twilight time and many more.
