The Sustainable Style Show 2008 - (November 8, 2008)
The Sustainable Style Show 2008 was held at the Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District (Building #6 and #7) on Saturday, November 8th, 2008. This landmark event will raise consumer awareness around fairly traded, locally and ethically produced products, as well as those made from sustainable materials. With the rise of environmental consciousness, we have witnessed an increased effort to make smarter shopping choices, yet “greenwashing” has created confusion around what is truly sustainable.
There were many vendors participating in this years event such as Simply, Eco Gear, Green Girls, Bazant Unique Adornments, Organic Evolution, Green One Ventures, One World Distribution, BYOB – Bring Your Own Bag, Take Comfort, Eco Existence, Grassroots, Kai Kids, Heart On Your Sleeve, Nixxi, Samantha Nemiroff Jewellery, Preloved, Thieves, Deux FM, Baby on the Hip, Global Movement, Hygeia, Paper People Clothing, Whirl Girl, Rafa Importers Group Inc, Tashodi, Susie Love, 69 Vintage and Greentainer.
One vendor in particular that caught our attention was the Organic Evolution booth. We had an opportunity to talk to Jeff Chown and learned more about Pangea Organics presence in the marketplace. Pangea Organics carry a wide range of products ranging from facial creams to body lotions to bar soaps. Integrity of philosophy, product, performance, practices, principles, people and planet is what Pangea Organics believes in a quality that makes a good company and a good product. Everything IN their products will always be listed ON their products so you know exactly what you are purchasing and putting on your body. That said, you will absolutely never find any questionable ingredients in our products. No petrochemicals or parabens, GMOs or other synthetic or harmful ingredients.
Pangea Organics has not overlooked it's product packaging. Now the fastest growing organic skincare line in the world brings you the fastest growing packaging in the world. All of Pangea's product boxes are made using a new Zero Waste process with 100% post-consumer paper and organic seeds like sweet basil and amaranth. Simply slip off the label, soak the box in water for a minute and plant it in the earth. Now that is just brilliant!
