The Book Lover's Ball 2009 - Fairmont Royal York Hotel (February 12, 2009)

On February 12, 2009 over 600 guests attended the 4th annual Book Lover's Gala at the Fairmont Royal York in support of Toronto Public Library Foundation. The evening began with a reception of delectable and fine hors d'oeuvres prepared by celebrity chef Massimo Capra. Joining the celebration were 56 celebrity authors including Margaret Atwood, Graeme Gibson, Joseph Boyden, Christie Blatchford, Vincent Lam, Richard J. Gwyn, M.G. Vassanji, Wayson Choy and The Right Honourable Paul Martin. After mingling and bidding at the silent auction, guest were ushered into the dinning room for a superb dinner, prepared by The Fairmont Royal York's David Garcelon. Diana Swain, host of CBC News at Six, returns once again as Master of Ceremonies and Brian Bailey an internationally renowed fashion designer and Mentor to the designers in the second season of Project Runway Canada was the Fashion Show host for the evening. Wrapping up the evening, guests at the Book Lover's Ball 2009 enjoyed an exclusive fashion show inspired by 60 years of Harlequin romance, which featured stunning couture designs from top Canadian designers like Lucian Matis, Ross Mayer, Bustle, Farley Chatto, Andy The Anh, Greta Constantine, Evan Biddell and Denis Gagnon. .: Next Page :.
