2009 Kathy A. Drury Rainbow Ball - Rio Carnival (September 25, 2009)

On Friday, September 25, 2009 the Mississauga Convention Centre hosted the annual Rainbow Ball, Mississauga's biggest and most famous party. And this year, the theme for the Rainbow Ball is "Rio Carnival"!, an evening filled with great entertainment, delicious cuisines, fabulous decor and unparalleled hospitality all in the support of three community based charitable organizations. Michelle Madeira made an appearance again this year to sing the national anthem and entertained us with some of her rhythmic tunes.

In just six short years, the annual Rainbow Ball has with the generous support of guests, sponsors and donors, raised over $450,000 to support charitable projects in Mississauga. “In these tough economic times, local charities need support from our community more than ever” said Cliff Silveira, President of the Mississauga Convention Centre Foundation. “We have been pleased to see our community stepping up to participate. This may be our most exciting and successful year yet for the Rainbow Ball.”
