Dr. Cory S. Goldberg - Fashionable Fundraiser (May 18, 2010)

Toronto - Fresh off the plane from his second Operation Smile mission, Dr. Cory S. Goldberg plans a fashionable fundraiser with host Jeanne Beker, to benefit the charity helping thousand of underprivileged children around the world receive much needed surgery for cleft lips, cleft palate and other facial deformities. The fashion show and auction cocktail event was held on Tuesday May 18th at 6pm in the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. “Operation Smile is an important charity to me,” says Dr. Goldberg who personally performed 18 surgeries in only five days in his most recent mission to Egypt. “Witnessing the suffering of these desperate parents and their children who would be forced to go through life with easily treatable facial deformities is a life changing experience. I knew that volunteering my time was the least I could do, and hosting a fundraising event seemed like a logical step to help further the charity’s goals,” he says. A Fashionable Fundraiser The event will begin with a fashion presentation celebrating Canadian fashion and hosted by Jeanne Beker, and follow with a silent auction of fashion, jewelry, art and other items with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Operation Smile. Brand partners and vendors of Dr. Goldberg and his practice will also be in attendance offering consultations with many sales offering proceeds to the charity, as well as hair consultations by celebrity hairstylist Robert Gage. “Women and mothers are at the heart of what we do,” says Tara Nikain, Patient Manager in the Goldberg practice and mother of two,” and Fashion is close to the heart of most women. Each of these esteemed designers will be contributing pieces to the silent auction, along with fabulous jewelry, art and other items. The event named Many Reasons will be held at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga on Tuesday, May 18th from 6pm to 9pm.
