Glam Gala Bridges Generation Gap “Partying with your parents” is about to get cool…
Toronto, ON (March 27th, 2009) The Canadian Liver Foundation (CLF) will host the first ever LIVERight Gala, an action-packed evening of entertainment on April 4th, 2009, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Co-hosted by celebrated media personalities, Sabrina Jalees and Daryn Jones, the gala offers parents and their teenage children a chance to enjoy a host of activities, including the: Gibson Guitar Jam Zone, temporary tattoo parlor, photo booths, tarot card readers, silent/live auctions and raffles.
Crowned as the youngest stand-up comedian ever to appear on Yuk Yuk’s professional roster, Sabrina Jalees has appeared in countless comedy specials. She recently completed a North American comedy tour and boasts leading roles in Video on Trial and Stars Gone Wild.
Beginning his career in stand-up clubs at the age of 17, Daryn Jones, is an accomplished comedian and television personality. Jones co-wrote and starred in the award-winning sketch comedy series, Buzz, and was featured as a correspondent on The Rick Mercer Report. He has written for The One, Oro Magazine, and the National Post. He is currently a popular host on MTV Live.
“By offering entertainment and activities that appeal both to parents and their children, we are challenging conventional stereotypes of how galas are perceived by today’s youth,” says Shannon Persaud Tolnay, Director of Fundraising, CLF.
In addition to an exciting array of activities and fine food, the evening will showcase a performance area featuring a main stage constructed out of a skateboard half pipe. The stage will highlight a spectacular line-up of entertainment, including:

A heart-stopping performance by Nico Archambault, winner of So You Think You Can Dance Canada

An original dance performance by Twisted Ankles Crew

A red-hot fashion show, featuring designers such as Ed Hardy, Guess, gsus Industries, PUMA and Roxy

A skate board and BMX bike demonstration featuring John Heaton, Canada’s top Vertical BMX biker
●
DJs Fragglerock, who have opened for acts such as Kardinal Offishall, The Rascalz, Choclair, Elephant Man and Kid Koala
