The Great Valentine Gala 2012 - Fairmont Royal York Hotel (February 11, 2012)

The Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons asks you, "Be my Valentine?"

Toronto: On Saturday, February 11, 2012, over 700 people will gather at the 28th Annual Great Valentine Gala, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel to support physically disabled Canadians. Through an extraordinary evening with dinner, entertainment, prizes and awards, the CFPDP raises awareness and funds for an important cause in our commuity.

A special tribute will honour and recognize the achievements of all Canadian Paralympic athletes as we send them to London for 2012 Paralympics. Guests of the Gala will enjoy musical styling's from Christian pop/country singer Debby Boone, performing her greatest hits.

"The Gala is a celebration of the things that really matter - things like character, compassion and community," says the Honourable Vim Kochhar, Gala creator and CFPDP Chairman.

As part of the annual Gala celebrations, individuals and corporations will receive The King Clancy Award and the Corporate Award to recognize outstanding achievements in the disabled community. This year's recipients of the King Clancy Award are: Faye Blackwood, volunteer athletic coach; Dr. David Legg, Canadian Committee President; and Rick Mercer, host of The Rick Mercer Report on the CBC. This year's Corporate Award recipients are: The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and Shoppers Home Healthcare, a division of Shoppers Drug Mart.
