The goal and mission of the Gala is to improve and increase awareness of the abilities of physically disabled people, and the contributions they have made to society. Money raised by The Great Valentine Gala, and other events hosted by CFPDP, will help to create and support many organizations, programs, services, special events and homes for physically disabled Canadians.

The ROM's accessibilty initiatives embrace visual, auditory and mobility concerns. They include tactile tours, American Sign Language interpreted tours and hearing loop technology. The Museum is also universally accessible to people with mobility issues.

Since its launch in 1962, Shoppers Drug Mart has stretched with over 1, 180 locations across Canada. Shoppers Drug Mart has created and maintained a brand with exceptional service, value, and trust. Shoppers Home Healthcare supports many organizations and charities that provide opportunities for Canadians living with disabilities.

In 1985, Honourable Vim Kochhar and his fellow the Rotary Club of Toronto - Don Valley organized the first Annual Great Valentine Gala. The event was such a success that The Rotary Club of Toronto - Don Valley created the Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons. The goal is to assist individuals with physical challenges to live fuller lives and raise awareness of their achivement and contributions to society. Since then, CFPDP has initiated dozens of important projects and events, raising over $21 million.
