RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur Awards 2008 - Fairmont Royal York

The PROFIT Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship: Christina Jennings of Shaftesbury Films (Toronto, Ontario)
		Christina Jennings is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Shaftesbury Films. Christina has created a company in which she is a unique leader with an uncanny ability to recognize strong literary properties that can be transformed into television series. Shaftesbury has been behind a remarkable body of dramatic Canadian television programming and recently acquired Smokebomb Entertainment, a developer of original multi platform digital content, which puts Shaftesbury into the forefront of production of original content for the web and all digital media platforms. Jennings was named Playback's Person of the Year in 2007. In 2006 she was honoured by Women in Film and Television - Toronto with a Crystal Award for outstanding achievement. Her track record of growth, leadership and profitablility across her career is entrepreneurial excellence.

Tiffany & Co. created the 18-karat gold brooch that was presented to every Awards recipient. It was designed to embody the values of successful entrepreneurship, conveying energy and purpose, along with a sense of continuess renewal. It was intended to be timeless, genuinely original, and to have national and historical resonance. The maple is an emblem of Canada; its seed is a natural symbol of growth and future potential; and the double wing shape suggests a career in full flight. The design was also used in the Awards logo.
