Baljit Gill is a visionary businesswoman, who's decisive, ambitious and determined. Baljit took control of Kitwanga Lumber Company with a number of challenges including its workforce and the Canadian lumber industry itself, and has led the business to extraordinary heights. Her success is a result of creating a cohesive, community supported, and goal-oriented team that puts Kitwanga ahead of the competition.

Kitwanga is an independent lumber manufacturing and marketing business. Baljit created a global initiative for Kitwanga and has earned her status as one of the largest exporters of B.C. Wood Products. The Kitwanga Mills Ltd. international markets include North America, Central America and South East Asia.
 


The RBC Momentum Award Winner: Nina Gupta of Greenlite (Montreal, Quebec)

Tarana Nina Gupta's success and instinct to predict North America's lighting business led her to be the President and CEO of Greenlite Lighting Corporation and Greenlite Solar one of the world's leading manufacturers of energy efficient lighting products, varying from compact fluorescent lamps to solar panels.

Greenlite manufactures and distributes compact florescent lights (CFLs), but it is their sense of social and environmental awareness and their focus on educating consumers that renders the company truly unique. In just 14 years, Greenlite is now a $30 million dollar company with offices in Canada, the US, China and India. Gupta's ultimate goal is to encourage North Americans to switch to CFLs and solar panels, and save their environment.

Teresa Coady of Bunting Coady Architects (Vancouver, British Columbia)
Teresa Coady is the Chief Executive Officer and Founding Partner of Bunting Coady Architects, one of Canada's leading architectural practices. Teresa is responsible for developing and pioneering the Integrated Design Process, (IDP), which successfully involves the client in all aspects of design and construction; a true trailblazer in her field.

With a keen insight into constructibility issues, a strongly developed design aesthetic and an established engineering background, Teresa is known for consistently maintaining architectural excellence. Her vision, to create "living breathing buildings"TM, is behind the firm's development of such landmark projects as the award-winning UBC Life Sciences Centre, the NRC Institute for Fuel Cell Innovation, the Vancouver Port Authority Head Office, the Kwantlen Trades and Technology Centre and the Douglas Border Crossing.
